CHAVANEL WINS AGAIN!
The seventh stage was another unforgettable day for team Quick-Step in the Tour de France 2010. After his splendid victory in the stage at Spa, Chavanel scored a double again, making his mark at the high altitude arrival at Station des Rousses after a race dominated by Team Quick-Step. Chavanel attacked on the Col de la Croix de la Serra and rode solo to the finish in Station des Rousses. He won with one minute advance on Valls, who became second, and almost 2 minutes before the main group with the favourites. Overall leader Cancellara fell behind early on one of the climbs and Chavanel took the yellow jersey back. Unfortunately Chavanel could not keep the jersey till today’s rest day. He lost a lot of time in stage eight, but he could show his yellow BBB Falcon and Impact for the second time in this Tour de France

PINEAU AND THE POLKA DOT JERSEY!
Jerome Pineau can wear his polka dot jerey on the rest day. He got into the morning break of stage seven and gathered enough points for the polka dot jersey. In the stage the day before, stage six, the French rider Perget of Caisse d’Epargne approached Pineau till 1 point. With seven climbs in stage seven there were 7 enough points to gather, which made the early break-a-way fantastic for Jerome. He gathered 31 point for his jersey. In the mountain classification Pineau now has 44 point. Second is another Quick-Step rider, Sylvain Chavanel with 36 points. Pineau announced that the polka dot jersey is now a real objective. He will be advised by seven times winner of the polka dot jersey Richard Virenque, in which stages he has to attack to achieve this goal. If he succeeds Pineau will be the leader in the polka dot classification from the first mountain in this Tour de France, the Côte de France.
